Command Sergeant Major Stackpole was born 11 December 1979 in Presque Isle, Maine.  He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 15 June 1998 as an 11B, Infantryman.

Command Sergeant Major Stackpole has served as a Rifleman, Squad Automatic Rifleman, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Ranger Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, the Sergeant of the Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Light Airborne Infantry Company First Sergeant, Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Joint Special Operations Air Detachment, First Sergeant of the United States Army Advanced Airborne School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Battalion Operations Sergeant.  His most recent assignment was as the Regiment Operations Sergeant Major at the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment The Old Guard (TOG), JBMHH, Virginia from June 2020 to September 2020.

Command Sergeant Major Stackpole has served in numerous units throughout his career.  His previous assignments include 1-505th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Pathfinder Company, 6-101st Aviation Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Pathfinder Company 5-101st General Support Aviation Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; 4th Ranger Training Battalion, Fort Benning, Georgia; 3d Infantry Regiment (TOG), Fort Myers, Virginia; 1-508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; The United States Army Advanced Airborne School, Fort Bragg, North Carolina; and 4th Battalion, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment, JBMHH, VA.  His combat tours include Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.

Command Sergeant Major Stackpole’s Military education includes: Basic Leadership Course (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Advanced Leadership Course, Senior Leadership Course, the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, the Battalion Pre-Command Course, and the Command Sergeant Major Development Program.  His other military schools include Airborne, Air Assault, Pathfinder, Ranger and the Jumpmaster Course.

His decorations include the Bronze Star ( 1OLC), Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Joint Commendation Medal Service Medal (1 OLC), Army Commendation Medal for Valor, Army Commendation Medal (8 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (6 OLC), the Ranger Tab, Combat Infantry Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier Identification Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Air Assault Badge, Meritorious Unit Commendation (1 OLC), Army Superior Unit Award, German Parachutist Badge (Bronze), and the German Proficiency Badge (Gold).  Command Sergeant Major Stackpole is a recipient of the Order of Saint Maurice (Centurion).

Command Sergeant Major Stackpole is currently serving as the Command Sergeant of 1st Battalion, 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (TOG) at Joint Base Myer Henderson Hall, Virginia.
