Command Sergeant Major Whittington hails from Los Angeles, California and enlisted in the United States Army in January 1995 as an Infantryman.  He completed One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. 
CSM Whittington’s most recent assignments were Command Sergeant Major for 2-357 Infantry, Joint Base Lewis McCord, WA, Operation Sergeant Major for1st Brigade, 82 DIV, Fort Bragg, Command Sergeant Major for 1-50 Infantry, Fort Benning, GA, and Class 64 United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. Command Sergeant Major Whittington has held positions as a First Sergeant, Brigade Security Manager, Platoon Sergeant, Long Range Surveillance Team Leader, Scout Assistant Team Leader, and every position in a Light Infantry Platoon.
His stateside assignments include Fort Bragg for two separate tours, Fort Lewis twice, the National Training Center, Fort Benning, and Fort Bliss.  His overseas assignments include Korea twice and Hawaii.  He has deployed to Iraq in support of OIF III and Kuwait for show of force.  
CSM Whittington’s military education includes the Basic Military Parachute Course, Air Assault Course, Pre-Ranger Indoctrinate Course, Ranger Course, Peace Keeping Operations, Small Arms Master Gunner, SAPPER Leader Course, Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Senior Noncommissioned Officer Course, and the United States Army Sergeant Major Academy Class 64.  CSM Whittington has an Associate’s Degree from the University of Phoenix and working towards his Bachelors in Homeland Security and Business Management. Command Sergeant Major Whittington is credentialed in the Lean Six Sigma White and Green Belt certified.
